A Plot Rich with Greens

Dennis is growing several types of kale, cabbage, lettuces, mustard greens, peppers, radishes and more in plot #26.

His plot is well-tended and the seedlings are growing healthy and strong. We talked a little about thinning the plants to give each more room as the plants grow. We agreed that on a day like this – when the temperatures will reach into the 90s – it is best to leave well enough alone. Transplanting should be done on a cool, overcast day.

We also talked this morning about weeds. Grass and lambsquarters are popping up in every bed. Be sure to pull them out while they are small.

Here’s a photo of Dennis pulling out a weed in his plot.
