Angela, a gardener from Cameroon

Just about every morning, Angela, a sophomore at Skidmore, bikes to the Saratoga Springs Community Garden to tend to her plot.

She said she grew flowers in the past, but not vegetables. Her experience is evident as she checks to see if the soil is moist and needs watering before going for the water hose.

Barbara Glaser, one of the garden’s supporters,  is hosting the college student from Cameroon for four years and is seen posing with her in the garden in early June. Things have certainly greened up since then. What a difference a month makes!
