Board OKs Trellises

The Moreau Town board approved the building of trellises for 5 of the children gardener plots at the Moreau community garden.

They will look like the one pictured below and hold tomatoes, cucumbers, snap peas and tomatillos off the ground and at just the right height for children to pick and enjoy.

I was searching online for a sturdy trellis and found this one at the website for Little House in the Suburbs: http://www.littlehouseinthesuburbs.com. I would love to paint it happy colors like this. Anyone have yard and garden paint to donate?

I found this image of a trellis online and thought it would be perfect for the garden ... strong, sturdy and just the right height for children to harvest.

The board also approve acquiring aged cow manure that will provide the beds with nutrients for healthier plants, twine and dowels for our square foot garden.
