Japanese Woodland Peony Seedpod

I was working in the garden and came upon my Japanese Woodland Peony pod.

This plant puts on a show twice a season.

First in the spring with a delicate pink cup-shaped flower that lasts only a few days and in the autumn with a bold, hard-to-miss display of reds and blues as the seed pod bursts to disperse its contents.
