I cooked our harvest celebration with family earlier this month with the big turkey, roasted chestnut stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables from the garden and several homemade pies. After, my husband said, “Don’t go cooking like that for Thanksgiving. Keep it simple.”
So, I did. I created a “little feast” . . . literally.
After we returned home from a great hike, I made us cornish game hens, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, peas, miniature corn and an apple crisp with whipped cream. It was the big feast but in miniature. The table looked adorable and brought a smile to our faces. I couldn’t ask for better.
I hope you had a happy day, too.
