About Natalie

I’m a creative — defined as a person who “is creative, typically in a professional context.” This suits me as I have spent my professional life as an author, writer, photographer and gardener.

When I’m not working, I pursue other creative outlets. In the winter, I spend time oil painting. When the weather warms, my focus changes to the great outdoors: kayaking and gardening. The Adirondack Mountains are nearby and I have been told there are 3,000 lakes, rivers and streams there. My goal is to explore as many as I can. This is the best kind of adventure. You never know what flora and fauna you will see next.

Gardening is a big part of my summer as well. In addition to working in community gardens helping others grow food, I grow fruits, flowers and vegetables and cook for the pleasure of my family and friends. And, I help others design gardens that suit their lifestyles.

This blog is about these things.

  1. Beautifully done! Can’t wait to see Monet’s Garden. Thanks for the enthusiastic review.

  2. Beautiful photos, nice blog! I’m an MG in Northern California with real different growing conditions. Always fun, interesting, and challenging, right? Wish we had some of your rain.

    • Different climates . . . but same green spirit. And about the challenges…always. This year we had great harvests of green peppers, green beans, herbs, carrots, squash but when it came time for tomatoes…we got early blight. Sigh. I’m sure you know how that goes. Natalie

  3. So many people visit my blog but I always check back with each one to see if they’re blogging and get a feel for what they’re about. I often visit just once because their blog is in a foreign language or there’s too much of a generational gap. In your case I find your blog refreshing and right down my alley. I’ve bookmarked your blog and will become a faithful follower. – Bob
